Yacht Charter Trogir
The quaint, medieval village of Trogir is a well-known town and harbour in the South Adriatic and is a good starting point for yacht charters in Croatia. Its position in the middle of Dalmatia, near the happening town of Split makes it a most attractive place to rent a boat from. Trogir is situated on a small island between the Croatian mainland and the island of Čiovo. Its historic centre has been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its Venetian architecture.
From Trogir, a popular sailing route is to sail south to the islands of Brac, known for its white stone and Zlatni Rat, a long pebbly beach at Bol; Hvar, the Adriatic’s glamourous party island has a great culinary scene and Vis, with its Roman ruins and clear waters. Peace and quiet is nearby too with many hidden coves and sandy beaches to anchor in.
Trogir is only 7 km away from the Split International Airport, which has direct flights to many European cities. Trogir is connected to the Adriatic coastal road and the exit for the highway is only 15 kilometers away. There is a bus line to Sibenik and Split and bus and train terminals are in Split. Ferry connections with the Dalmatian islands and Italy are in Split, 25 kilometers south of Trogir.
This world-renowned sailing area has no real danger or bad sea conditions. Navigation is straightforward as islands are close together and it is a good place for beginners. The prevailing wind is the friendly Maestral from the North West. The wind to watch out for is the Bora from the North East which can blow up suddenly and be quite gusty, although rarely in the summer season. The magic of exploring the Dalmatian Coast by boat is an unforgettable experience.
